So you're staring at your inventory wondering why you're making your 15th trip back to grab "just one more piece of Titanium." Yeah, I've been there. This calculator's been my secret weapon ever since I wasted 3 hours doing laps in my first playthrough. Throw in whatever compartments, modules, and upgrades you want - it'll crunch all the numbers so you can focus on actually building instead of drowning in resource runs.

Base Building Tips

📍 Location Matters

Build near multiple biomes to access diverse resources. The Grand Reef and Kelp Forest offer good central locations with varied materials nearby. After spending way too long farming in one spot, trust me - central location saves so much swim time.

⚡ Power Planning

Solar panels are easiest but inconsistent (nighttime power drops). Combine with a Bioreactor for night backup. Nuclear is for late-game megabases. What I found out the hard way: my first base died on night 3 because I only had solar. Lmao, never again.

📦 Storage Strategy

Don't wait until storage is full to build more lockers. Build them proactively and label them by material type for faster organization. In my experience, a base with labeled storage saves you from that panic moment when you can't find Copper at 2am.

🌊 Depth Considerations

Deeper bases need stronger foundations and more maintenance. Consider the depth of your preferred biomes when planning location. Ngl, my deep base at 400m collapsed twice before I figured out the foundation trick.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best strategy for beginners?

Start by gathering basic resources near your escape pod, build a small base quickly, and always carry extra oxygen tanks when exploring. Check our Beginner's Guide for detailed tips.

How do I find rare materials?

Rare materials like Kyanite, Lithium, and Magnetite are found at greater depths. Use our Biome Locations Guide to plan your expeditions.

What's the most important upgrade to get first?

We recommend prioritizing oxygen tank upgrades first, followed by reinforced suit for damage resistance. See our Best Upgrade Path Guide for optimal progression.
